About

What Pharo Schools Stand For

In a continent where 40% of the population is aged 15 years and younger, schools are by definition the point of maximum development impact. The challenge is to create schools that do more than boost enrolment rate statistics and find creative ways of engaging the child, leveraging the school and home environments, in order to improve the quality of learning. With this approach, we create tomorrow’s local and global leaders, from kindergarten all the way to secondary school education.

All Pharo Schools have a common identity, which is rooted in our commitment to excellent education and our values which guide all our students and teachers. Therefore Pharo Schools have developed a comprehensive quality management framework focusing on quality teaching, learning and school management.

Pharo Schools and the Pharo Family

Pharo Schools is one vehicle through which Pharo Foundation achieves its education mission – the other being partnerships with public schools. Pharo Schools tailors Pharo Foundation’s global vision, mission, and values to the unique needs of schools.

Our secondary schools Homosha and Sheikh also benefit from a unique interaction with Pharo Management, the global investment firm which finances the Foundation. Every quarter volunteers from Pharo Management in London, Hong Kong or New York, spend two weeks at Homosha/Sheikh schools, teaching and exchanging world views with our pupils. This volunteer programme is a unique feature of our Schools: through it, the world comes directly into our pupils’ classrooms. Here is a video on recent volunteer experiences:

Lifelong learners: At Pharo Schools, we recognize the importance of continuous learning to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. We instil this value in our students, encouraging them to become lifelong learners. What Our Parents Say

"When girls are given the opportunity, I am confident they can achieve incredible things with their potential. So, give your daughters the chance to excel by enrolling them in this school."

Omelher Ibrahim – mother of Homosha student Emtinan

"I chose Pharo Sheikh Secondary for Abdiladif and Zakariy because I want them to learn how to be self-reliant and adapt to different environments. This will help them in the future, enabling them to interact with different people when they become leaders."

"We appreciate the teaching and support staff for a successful year and their efforts in moulding our son. The early years memories are forever cherished in one's life, I am glad Mugo is having fun while learning. Keep up the good work."
