Yohannes started his career as a secondary school teacher in rural Ethiopia. Before joining Pharo Foundation, he worked with various international organization where he led education and health programmes across East Africa. 

At Pharo Foundation, he has been the driving force behind flagship initiatives like the Somaliland Early Child Development programme and the Homosha Girls’ boarding school in Ethiopia.

Yohannes is a proud alumnus of Addis Ababa University and the Institute of Social Studies at the Hague, Netherlands, where he earned his bachelor and master degree in education and development studies, respectively. 

An enthusiastic educator and advocate for positive youth development in Africa, Yohannes enjoys working with young people, offering mentorship and technical support through various networks.
