Welcome Note
On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to welcome you to Pharo Secondary School Sheikh. This school is a pillar in Somaliland’s educational history. For over half a century the school has been educating future Presidents, Ministers, Director Generals, and heads of Industry.
We are honoured and privileged to be a part of an educational institution that strives to provide learners with versatile opportunities to learn and discover. Whether it is through focusing on academics, student leadership, extra-curricular activities or volunteering, we strive to make each student get the most out of their school experience while they are attending Pharo Secondary School Sheikh. We believe the young people of Somaliland deserve an in-depth and sound education to prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow. We prepare young people to become respectful, contributing members of the communities in which they live. We are extremely proud and happy that our students, both boys and girls, are able to get scholarships and acceptances into international universities in Canada, the US, Malaysia, Uganda, etc.

History
Located in the town of Sheikh in the Sahil Region of Somaliland, Sheikh Secondary school is a renowned boarding school that was established in British Somaliland in 1958. The school has always been one of the top schools in the country. Many of the prominent northern Somali politicians and other key officials are graduates of this school. The school shut down for several years until reopening in 2003 and Pharo Foundation has been running operations since September 2019.
